Maybelline Fit Me Shine-Free Foundation Stick Review

This product has been on the market for some time now and I have actually had in my collection for a few months. I thought it was time to review this foundation stick and give you all my thoughts on this product.

CLAIMS
Powder that easily dissolves oil.
Shine-Free.
Easy on the go.
The shade that I picked up is 330 Caramel/toffee its a neutral shade. I usually go for a more yellow undertone but this worked out fine. Since this is a stick foundation I was not sure how I would blend the product out, so I tried two methods.
Brush: I applied the foundation all over my skin and used a Real Techniques powder brush to blend the product. It took longer because I wanted to make sure I did not have any streaky lines on my face. Once I was finished my skin look airbrushed. The only con with this is that it did not last long. I kept seeing transfer marks on everything I touched which was gross in my opinion. I was also oily in my t zone and had to blot at least 5 times which I don’t tend to do.
Beauty Blender: Again I applied the foundation over my skin and with a damp beauty blender, blended the foundation out. I was able to blend the foundation using this method in a shorter amount of time then with the brush. With the Beauty Blender I had a more natural finish and did not need to blot throughout the day. There was also less product transfer.
While using both methods of application I did set the foundation with a matte powder.
Overall, I prefer to use a beauty sponge when using this foundation. I also think this is a good beginner foundation as well as a low cost alternative to an everyday foundation.
You do not get as much product in comparison to other brands so you may be spending more money in the long run to keep this on hand.

I haven’t tried this because my skin is so finicky when it comes to foundations, but I’m always intrigued by these stick type products and feel like I would like them because there is little to no mess, which I’m sure is nice!
